I'd like to extend an invitation to a fundraising dinner for An-Nisa Hope Center on April 20th. I put together a fundraising video for them about a year and a half ago, and got to meet some of the people they've helped, so I can personally vouch for how much this organization helps families in the Houston Muslim Community. (Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrAUhy7GUa4)
Here are some of the services An-Nisa provides:
medical care
Islamic-based marriage counseling (An Nisa has helped dozens of Muslim married couples stay together)
temporary shelter for displaced persons
The testimonials at the end of the video are particularly moving. Three interviews were conducted:
A mother who left her abusive husband and received help getting back on her feet financially.
An older woman (who doesn't speak English) whose husband left her for another woman, leaving her to fend for herself.
A married couple who received counseling when their marriage was in trouble, then also received housing for themselves and their children when their house burned down.
An Nisa needs funding to help the many, many families who have contacted them for help. If you would like to attend the fundraising dinner (there is no admission cost), please contact Bibi Khan at bibikhan31@yahoo.comby TOMORROW to RSVP. Please see the attached photo for more details.
