An Evening of Syrian Art & Theatre - A Fundraiser for Syria
Come join us on Sunday, May 26, in an evening of artistic expression of revolutionary proportions and helps us feed Syrians this Ramadan!
Kafranbel Art Exhibit & Reception at 6pm
Let's Talk Play at 7pm *sharp*
Let's Talk (Khalouna Ne7ki): The popular theatrical performance by the Syrian Student Association of Montreal makes its Houston debut! "Let's Talk" is an Arabic play (w/ English surtitles*) that examines the experience of the Syrian Revolution. It portrays courageous and tragic events that have defined the Syrian people's lives for the past two years.
*The Houston showing of the play will feature English surtitles (a first!) above the stage (like the opera), so everyone can enjoy this amazing production! So spread the word to all!
Peaceful Defiance: Art of the Syrian Revolution
The famous posters and banners of the Syrian town, Kafranbel, will be showcased in Houston for the first time in this special exhibit! The witty posters won the hearts and minds of people worldwide and became the source of national pride for Syrians. Don't miss your chance to to see these posters of defiance. Bring your cameras for Facebook and Twitter worthy pics!
Before the curtains open, socialize with friends while enjoying a delicious spread of light bites during our opening reception.
100% of proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit The Maram Foundation's and Awaser's humanitarian projects in Syria. www.maramfoundation.org
