Sundays, January 12, 19 & 26, 1–4 p.m. Drop-in program On Sundays through the duration of the exhibition The Age of Impressionism: Great French Paintings from the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, families are invited to sketch works of art in the European galleries and explore how artists such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, and Claude Monet used natural light in their works of art. An MFAH teaching artist is on hand with paper, pencils, and clipboards to get you started. |

"Travels and Treasures on the Roads of Arabia" Drop-in program Unearth the ancient past and explore recent discoveries from Saudi Arabia that date back to prehistoric times along with objects from today, on view in the exhibition Roads of Arabia: Archaeology and History of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In the Family Zone, spend some time with our friendly family educators—sit on a pillow and read, sketch a work of art, and get involved in an investigation of a work of art. In the studio, create an art project inspired by original works of art on display in the Family Zone. This suite of programs includes:
• Sunday Storytime Make connections between a storybook and a work of art in the galleries.
(Begins at 1:30 p.m.) • Creation Station At this family-friendly workshop, an MFAH teaching artist encourages families to create art using materials or ideas similar to those used by the artist who created the featured work of art on display in the Family Zone. • Gallery Adventures Visit the Family Zone, where an MFAH educator has looking games, books, and hands-on activities for families to use in the galleries. ![]() |

Friday, January 24, 10:30–11:30 a.m. Little Art Adventures is a 30-minute program designed for children ages 3 to 5 years old and their adult companions. The experience includes a storybook circle; creative shape and color play; the creation of a simple art project; and a visit to the galleries with an art educator. ► Register for FREE Free with general Museum admission.
