For our third anniversary event, MPA is pleased to bring Mehdi Hasan, a prominent UK journalist and TV presenter to Houston. He has been an ardent advocate for a fair and balanced perspective of Muslims in journalism and media.
He will discuss the opportunities that American Muslims have to engage with the broader community, and how America's strong faith-based values & heritage can be helpful to Muslims in strengthening their faith while engaging with the society. We are excited to have him share his unique perspective as a Muslim media personality who is well-versed in discussing and debating the interplay between politics, the media and Islam - in fact, his debate-winning speech at the Oxford Union on Islam and peace, in May 2013, went viral, amassing more than a million views on YouTube.
The event is being held on Saturday, February 8th, at 5.30pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Katy Freeway near West Loop. MPA Members can attend this event at no charge & non-members can attend for $35 by registering in advance.
