As I’m sure some of you know, over 250 girls were kidnapped by the Islamist group, Boko Haram, in Nigeria less than a month ago (full story here). THESE GIRLS STILL HAVE NOT BEEN FOUND AND THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT HAS DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT. It’s really disheartening, and I’m actually disappointed in myself for not doing something sooner when I heard the news last month. I know we are all busy, but please take 5-10 minutes out of your schedule to show your concern for humanity. Below is a short list of ways you can help in “bringing back our girls”.
1. Tweet #BringBackOurGirls and follow the hashtag on Twitter.
2. “Like” the Bring Back Our Girls page on Facebook.
3. Tomorrow, May 6, at 12 PM EST, Girl Rising and Amy Poehler's Smart Girls initiative are hosting a "Call to Action" Google Hangout. Please RSVP here, or go here to watch the discussion.
4. Call a Congressional Representative to support Senate Resolution 433, by clicking here.
5. Share this email with as many people as possible to raise awareness and urge them to ACT!
Thanks in advance for caring and doing something about this tragedy!
