Assalamu alaikum! My name is Abdul-Hakm Ahmed. I am the Coordinator of the Mishkah Center Legal Clinic and for the last 26 years have practiced law here in Houston, Texas.

Being a convert to Islam, I have seen the public sentiments toward Muslims change over time. Today, unlike any other time I can  recall, Muslims are facing legal problems--civil and criminal--on an unprecedented level.  While many in the community can afford to hire private legal counsel, the majority cannot. The purpose of the MIshkah Center Legal Clinic is to make access to qualified experienced attorneys available to anyone who wants to avail themselves of it.  Through a team of volunteer attorneys, from several practice areas, community members will be able to discuss their situations and get guidance  on how best to handle it, including the need for representation.

It is our goal to make this a bimonthly event. We pray that Allah will grant us success in this effort and are excited to have the opportunity to help.
