The award-winning film looks at the lives of Ibn Rushd (Averroes) the Muslim, and Moses Maimonides the Jew, the two leading personalities of Al-Andalus (medieval Islamic Spain).

It explores today's relationships between Muslims, Jews, and Christians and the fight for human rights and against religious extremism.
