You know the cycle. If you've ever woken up one morning with the enthusiasm and motivation to get fit and eat healthy, how long does that usually last? For the best of us, a few months maybe. For most of us, probably a few weeks or even a few days. Weight Watchers saw this and designed a support network that puts people in touch with others going through the same struggles as they are. When you're resisting temptation or feeling demotivated, others are there to pick you up. And when you're feeling great, you can return the favor by helping someone else.
We see a similar support system in the interaction of the Sahabah (Companions) of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), but their companionship ran much deeper and stronger than any weight-loss program ever can. The Companions, Peace Be Upon Them All, were there for each other in every aspect of their lives, for their entire lives. This is what Islam gives us as a model to help us get through our own struggles in this life.
To Learn more about the Importance of Companionship and how to build stronger relationships in your own life, join us for Family Night this Saturday at IOC. Come for Dinner, Come for The Lecture, Come with Family, and Come to make some Companions for yourself ;)
