ID#: 2465 Mar 31 : Houston : Muslim Bar Association Meeting

The next Muslim Bar Association meeting is set for Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 7pm.

We'll have a seminar/panel by lawyers who practice estate/probate law discuss the basics of drafting wills and common issues they see come up in their practice.

We also will encourage people to sign up for the Houston Bar Association's Will-a-thon. They need attorneys on April 13th and May 11th. The HBA provides free wills to all Harris County low-income seniors (age 60+ and spouses), disabled persons, and veterans (of any age) who wish to have a simple will prepared. For those who don't have flexibility during the workweek, we'll vote on when the group would want to participate in a Saturday drop-in legal clinic with Houston Volunteers Lawyers Program

We will also discuss formalizing the group's structure by nominating or requesting individuals to join the leadership team to help plan and administer the organization going forward.

We plan to host the next meeting at a more central Houston location - but will finalize that location based on attendance.
