As-salaamu alaykum. There are about 4 "pink" masajid in the world: The Philippines, Iran, Malaysia, and India. We need to build one in the US inshAllah. The process has already started in Houston, Tx, the 4th largest city in the US.

The Pink Mosque is a registered Texas non-profit whose mission is to build a new mosque in the Houston area that does not have a barrier or wall separating the sisters.  There was no screen nor barricade during the time of the Prophet (pbuh). Brothers prayed in the front, children in the middle, and sisters in the back rows.  Having a wall or separate room with mirrors indirectly prevents sisters from attending because they feel they are not part of the community.

The Pink Mosque seeks to have more sisters to be on the board to make major decisions and will give sisters and youth to have a voice in designing Houston's next generation masjid inshaAllah.

We are in the beginning stages of setting up the executive committee and looking to design a logo and slogan soon iA.If you want to have a voice in masjid construction and planning, this is your opportunity!
