Spend the night with us this Ramadan at River Oaks Islamic Center. We're planning a Qiyaam each Saturday night and are looking forward to hosting some our favorite local speakers including Imams Abdullah Hernandez, Abdullah Oduro, Mohammed Wasim Khan, Mahad Qamar and more!
If you haven't attended an ROIC Qiyaam before, it's a great opportunity to listen to a some thought-provoking talks, pray a few rakat and kick it with some Muslim friends.

Topic 1 – Defeating the Shaytan Around You - Sh. Abdullah Oduro
Societal pressures (drugs, alcohol, peer pressure, pornography, scandalous clothing, sex, etc) tend to lead us away from our faith, but how can we learn from our Prophets to try and overcome pressures that we as teenagers, young adults and adults face in our daily lives.
Topic 2 – Defeating the Shaytan Within You - Sh. Abduallah Oduro
Ramadan is a time that we tend to focus on our bad habits/desires and bad characteristics/manners. How can we learn from the stories of the Prophets to work on overcoming the negative aspects of ourselves even after Ramadan.
Speaker: Sh. Abdulla Oduro
Sh. Abdullah Oduro is a graduate of the Islamic University at Madinah, Saudi Arabia, holidng a Bachelors of Islamic Law & Jurisprudence and Arabic Language Degree (B.A. equivalence program) from Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia. He has established KnewU – a non-profit organization for new Muslims which educates the new and non-Muslims intensively in Islamic studies. He also has experience in the medical field as an adjunct instructor for surgical technology & procedures. His area of interest and competencies are Problem-Solving, Mentorship, and Research. Other area of his expertise is as English language instructor and coach.
