Ever heard of Cypress, TX?  Most Houstonians would probably consider Cypress some place that is really far away, on the peripheries of civilization.    So when you mention that there is a new Islamic Center there called the Islamic Outreach Center or IOC, a slew of jokes start.   “Oh, IOC.  You mean the Islamic Out of Reach Center?”  or “Oh, IOC.  You mean Islam Out in the Country?”

Ok, we admit that it may seem far.  However, consider this.  Before revelation started to descend upon the Prophet (sws), He would spend time far away, in a cave, in solitude, worshipping Allah, contemplating.   There is something to be said about being away from the hustle and bustle of city life.   In that light, we would like to invite you to the new Islamic Outreach Center, on a spiritual retreat, for a new ILF course entitled, “Journey with the Beloved – An in depth study of hadith through Ibn Rajab’s, Jami’ al-Ulum wal Hikm.”

In this course, we will be looking at a collection of 50 hadith of the Prophet (sws), through the explanation of one of the most erudite scholars of this ummah: Ibn Rajab al Hanbali.  

This powerful and spiritually uplifting 8 week course is starting this Saturday, September 15^th at the Islamic Outreach Center.  Class timings are 2pm – 4pm and class will be held every Saturday at the same time, inshaAllah for a course of 8 weeks.
