A little bit about the speakers!
Imam Tariq Mustafa Ibn Ali Khan:
Imam Khan is a trained Chaplain, worked for the GA Department of Corrections for seventeen years, and collectively has 38 years experience working with some of the most difficult personalities in the Penal Institutions. Imam Khan has also worked in the penal institutions in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina. His expertise include conflict identification and resolution, human conduct, anger management, as well as segmented character development.
Imam Khan served as Imam in Martinsville, Virginia and is the Co-founder of Marrkazul Irrshaad Wa Tawjeed. After studying with Sheikh Daoud Bojang for more than fifteen years in the areas of Tawheed, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh and more attention on marriage and family in Islam, Imam Khan was presented with Al-Ijaza (a certificate of confirmation and endorsement) to confirm and authenticate his knowledge. He currently resides & practices in Sugar Land.
Sarah Ali:
Sr. Sarah is a licensed Professional Counselor and has a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Texas A & M University. She owns The Transformation Counseling Center. It is a multifaceted retreat focusing on personal growth, life coaching/psychotherapy, fitness and beauty. She does counseling work primarily with children, adolescents, and young adults. Marital/ family and relationship counseling is a particular focus of her practice. She resides in Houston.
Afshan Jilani:
Sr. Afshan is certified in ‘Engaged training’, a program sponsored by the State of Texas for pre-marital counseling, Two together in Texas- field training in group therapy for married couples, NARME- National Association of Relationship Management & Education, member & advisor. She is currently working on Certification for Couples Counseling. She resides in Houston with her family.
