An Uncertain Road:
Muslim Integration into Europe and the U.S.

Driven by rising immigration and high birth rates, the number of Muslims in Europe has tripled in the last 30 years; Islam remains the continent’s fastest-growing religion. But is there a clash between core Muslim beliefs and liberal, European values? How can Muslim communities across the continent better integrate into society? What lessons, if any, can be learned from the United States? Award-winning commentator, author, and political director of the Huffington Post UK, Mehdi Hasan, will be answering these questions and challenging our assumptions and myths about Islam and the West.

Mehdi Hasan is the political director of the Huffington Post UK and one of Britain's best-known political and social commentators. A graduate of Oxford University, Mehdi has worked in both the television (BBC, Sky News) and print (Guardian, New Statesman) media. He is the author of two books - a biography of Labour Party leader Ed Miliband and an e-book on the financial crisis. Mehdi also presents "Head To Head" on Al Jazeera English, where his recent interviewees have included scientist Richard Dawkins, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, and New York Times columnist Tom Friedman.
