This session will evaluate the responsibilities of men and women in molding a strong relationship with a significant other based on Islamic perspective.

The Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) have presented us with prime examples of the best fathers, mothers, wives, husbands, children and grandchildren. Anse Tamara Gray will discuss the characteristics of these individuals, the specific qualities they possess, and how each of us can aspire to their potential.

Family is considered the cornerstone of Islamic society. This session will seek to understand the importance of the family and its centrality to our faith. What part does family play in solidifying our close relationships with Allah? Speaker Anse Tamara Gray will further explore this topic and how familial values play an important role in forming the future of the Muslim Ummah.
➨ Session 2: Strengthening Family Ties
Speaker: Omar Qureshi
The daily challenges we encounter have the potential to dissolve the most important human bond, the one we share with our families. This session will discuss various taboo topics within the realm of family, including: the increasing number of failed marriages, the prevalence of spousal abuse, and the challenges associated with raising children in the United States. Mr. Qureshi will explore some practical steps we can implement based on Prophetic and Quranic teachings to create healthy, positive relationships.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
(★) ANSE TAMARA GRAY is the founder of Rabata, an organization dedicated to promoting positive cultural change through individual empowerment, spiritual upbringing of women, and the revival of the female voice in scholarship. Anse Tamara lived in Syria for twenty years, where she studied a full curriculum of Islamic texts and subjects, with a specialty in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Anse Tamara is a doctorate student at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN and holds a master's degree in Curriculum Theory and Instruction.
(★) OMAR QURESHI has over 15 years of experience in education and currently serves as the principal of the Islamic Foundation School. Mr. Qureshi holds a Bachelors of Arts in Microbiology, a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Cultural and Educational Policy Studies at Loyola University in Chicago. Mr. Qureshi has vast teaching experience having taught in various academic settings including Manarat al-Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Universal School, Morgan Park Academy, and serving as an adjunct professor in St. Xavier University and North Park University. Mr. Qureshi strives to provide an education environment that cultivates religious and intellectual virtues, and the development of a strong curriculum that is grounded in the Islamic worldview.
