Sh. Yahya Sufi will explore contemporary fiqh issues faced by Muslims living in the West in the 21st Century and provide guidance on how to navigate modern phenomenons through the light of the Quran and Sunnah.
This class is designed for advanced students (brothers and sisters) of knowledge and aspiring khateebs.
As an added bonus, Sh. Sufi, will dedicate 20 minutes after the class for a SISTERS ONLY question & answer session, giving our local sisters access to learned scholar to answer any questions they may have with regards to practicing their dean.
Join us at 7:30PM, every 1st and 3rd Monday starting from October 19th, 2015, continuing till the end of the year.
Born in Somalia and is custom of his people, Sheikh Yahya Uthmaan Suufi memorized the Quran at a very early age and than later devoted much of a decade to his Islamic studies in Madinah. After finishing his bachelors in Shari'ah at the Islamic University of Madinah, the Sheikh went on to complete his masters in Principles of Jurisprudence (Usul-ul-Fiqh), a degree held by very few in North America. Sheikh Yahya thus specializes in knowledge of Fiqh, Shari'ah and the Arabic language sciences. Sheikh Yahya is a member of the Islamic Propogations, Guidance and the Foreign Awareness Center of Madinah. He is the imam of Woodlands Masjid in Houston and is a regular lecturer, khateeb and teacher at various Islamic masjid, universities, seminars and conferences.
