Come as you are -- this is our mantra. The safe space we hope to see thrive in our community is sorely lacking. Embracing Islam, and being embraced, is already exceptionally hard. Thus, let us support and nourish one another with open minds, ears, and hearts. This is only possible when we accept one another as we are. Listening, and not preaching, is the only way to build an honest, healthy, warm and cohesive community.
If this is your first time at the masjid and you aren't sure how to dress, please feel free to contact me. But, to be perfectly frank, please do not worry about how you dress. Bring your stories, friends, and join us for heart warmth in the form of food and conversation.
